Kwe’, my name is Nerissa Mae Doucette and I am the new Health Hub Coordinator with Atlantic First Nation Tech Services. Since September, I have presented to committees across the provinces to share, network and collaborate information about the Health hub. I have reached out to several Health centers. In Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, and presented at 3 Health Centres thus far; Waqmitkuk, We’koqma’q and Paqtnkek. I have attended the Eskasoni Health Fair, Atlantic First Nations and Inuit Home and Community Care Conference and am planning to attend Woodstock First Nation’s Health Fair this month. As I am fairly new in my role, I believe that it is very important to build as much rapport as possible with as many Health Centres across the Atlantic provinces. I feel that establishing a connection in the community and putting a face to the Health Hub is a great way to promote, educate and enable users that register to utilize the Health Hub as much as possible. The Health hub consistently updates its content and undergoes regular enhancements driven by innovative concepts emerging from collaborations with fellow professionals in the healthcare sector. Great ideas and additions to the health hub are becoming a reality and will be implemented in the health hub soon. The Community Base Workers tab option is coming soon which will be the newest addition to the Health hub; This is still under development.
