Nerissa Doucette is a Health Hub Coordinator at Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey. Nerissa serves our Indigenous communities at Health Centres, Healing Centres & Tribal councils across the Atlantic; Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Prince Edward Island. You will see Nerissa networking, collaborating, promoting and educating Health Centre Staff, Treatment Centres & Tribal councils about the Health hub.
Nerissa has many years of work experience working in our Indigenous communities in different capacities. Nerissa is a registered social worker who has worked in Child Welfare, sports & Health & Mental Health. Some of Nerissa’s responsibilities as the Health Hub Coordinator are to upload content, train administrators on how to navigate and upload content on the Health Hub, deliver Health Hub information sessions in the community, network and collaborate with Health Directors, FNIHB, Tribal Councils and Treatment Centres.
Outside the office, Nerissa is a proud mother and Kiju to 4 beautiful children and 4 precious grandchildren. She finds joy and tranquility when she’s behind the stove cooking for her family and hosting family nights. Nerissa is also a dog mom to her Yorkie, Daisy and Staffordshire terrier, Hank.
